- Post charges daily-apply late fees when applicable-Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing EMR-Entering correct patient demographics for hospital registration and verifying insurances and coding hospital visits, applying appropriate modifiers if in global periods.-applying correct modifiers to CPT & HCPC codes. -Creating spreadsheets for office/pending hospital surgery claims-adjusting claims when appropriate, along with keeping track on a spreadsheet -Communicate with all departments when needed including the providers and nurse practitioners - experience with Athena -Return and/or answer billing questions from patients in a timely manner. -Collect patient balances/ set up payment plans-Send medical records, appeal letters and submit corrected claims as needed.
