I have been teaching in the same school that hired me out of college for twenty year. My experience has been with grades 9, 11, and 12 in the science department teaching Physical Science, Human Anatomy and Physiology and Advanced Human Anatomy and Physiology. I have a Bachelors of Science degree from Northern Michigan University with a major in Biology Education and a minor in Chemistry Education. I am currently finishing a Masters degree in Advanced Studies in Integrated Science and Instructional Leadership from American College of Education.Throughout my 20 years of teaching high school at Colonel Crawford High School, I've served as the freshmen class advisor for all 20 of those years and 10 years as the advisor to a unique leadership group in our school called Project B.L.A.C.K. I have also coach a variety of sports from varsity volleyball, freshmen, junior varsity and varsity cheerleading and currently, I coach the varsity girls golf team. Working in a small rural school with a tradition of high academic achievement has afforded me the opportunity to carry the much of the responsibility of curricular decisions. More recently, being able to teach classes that are not state tested has allowed me to put forth a much greater effort to practice and grow in inquiry and STEM experiences for my students. My true passion lies in teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology and I take most pride in the number of students who become inspired to pursue careers in the health field after taking my classes.
