There are 4 MARSGs under the AR-MEDCOM with a combined total of 10 MBBs comprised of the North East (1) MBB, South East (2) MBBs, Central (3) MBBs and West (4) MBBs. The 7457th MBB is the only Medical Backfill Battalion in the North East Medical Area Readiness Support Group and the largest in the AR-MEDCOM. The North East were the first MARSG to begin the reorganization process of transferring Soldiers within and outside of the AR-MEDCOM, deactivating, activating and relocating units. During the various reorganization phases, North East deactivated the 4215th USAH in Richmond, VA, 2290th USAH in Alexandria, VA, 4220th USAH in Shoreham, NY, stood up the 7457th MBB in Richmond, VA and the 7250th MSU in Alexandria, VA, relocated the 7202nd MSU to Shoreham, New York and gained the 7238th MSU in Hobort, Indiana, the 7218th MSU in Louisville, KY and the 7241st MSU in Lexington, KY to include their down-trace units.
