As the general manager of the WSPN radio station I oversee the day to day operations of the station as well as upkeep of the station. A large part of my job is to monitor the DJs to make sure the station runs smoothly and that programing complies with FCC and station rules. In addition to my general duties I serve as the station's programmer and music director. I work with students and community members to generate an eclectic program and to promote the station in the broader Saratoga Springs community. I work closely with the DJs, teaching them how to properly use the equipment in the booth and helping them achieve fluid, professional quality shows. I talk daily with record promotors and manage the music in the station's rotation, selecting the best current albums for rotation. I work with community members to promote WSPN as a tool for publicity of community events and promotion of the local music scene. I also serve as an intermediary technical director, using a basic knowledge of the broadcasting equipment to solve small problems that arise.

For nearly two years I've been working as a music director at 91.1 WSPN, Skidmore College's entirely student run and operated independent radio station. As music director, I field incoming music submissions, both digitally and on physical CD, from record labels and promotions companies. I chart the station's top spins on the weekly CMJ charts. The job requires me to spend many hours a week reviewing and considering new music for airplay at our station as well as talking with promoters like Terrorbird Media, Distiller Promotions, and Secretly Group daily. I also work closely with our DJs to inform them on new adds that work for specific genres or theme shows and connect them with bands to do radio interviews. The job has provided me great experience in the music industry as well as kept me up to date on new music.

I have been booking, producing, and working concerts at Skidmore College for three and a half years. I deal with everything from contacting bands to breaking down sound equipment. Working with the Student Entertainment Company has given me the ability to work behind the scenes in event production dealing with bands directly, their management, our sound crew, and organizing our event staff and security. I head a staff of about 20 people with various levels of training in event production. I'm comfortable with contacting bands and their management. Our most recent events have included the Dirty Projectors, Danny Brown, Diane Coffee, Mayer Hawthorne, Givers, Le1f, Janelle Monae, TV on the Radio, and many others.
