Researcher passionate about social justice in the context of adaptation/resilience urban planning, especially coastal retreat.I worked for applied research projects for diverse organizations, including NYC's Planning Department, and internationally with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Cities Alliance, the UN-HABITAT, UNCDF and the European Commission.I supervised high-level trainings on climate change decision making for ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, ARCADIS and the Dutch Organization for Internationalization in Education (NUFFIC).I am a member and co-lead author of the Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN).I had the privilege to travel on work assignments to the following cities: Cali, Medellín and Bogotá (Colombia), Trujillo (Peru), Quito (Ecuador) and Manila (The Philippines). Previously I lived in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Edinburgh (Scotland) and Milan/Turin (Italy).
