As a graduate of Arizona State University's doctoral program in psychology, I was fortunate to complete rigorous training in one of the top quantitative research methods programs in the nation. In my current position at the University of Oregon's Prevention Science Institute, I implement these skills to better understand the physical and psychosocial health disparities incurred by systemically marginalized populations and the perpetuation of these disparities across multiple generations. I leverage these findings to inform efforts that narrow these gaps and disrupt intergenerational cycles of suffering. As a Latine researcher, both my training and lived experiences inform my research practice, with a primary focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at all levels. The ultimate goal of my research is to inform policy practices that promote positive health outcomes and family wellness in resilient, yet underserved communities.
