Co-Founder & Executive DirectorLatched Support Sep 2017 - PresentSan Antonio, Texas AreaIn 2021, San Antonio had 81,000 live births. However, despite a growing population, San Antonio has some of the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the nation at 6.2 per 1,000 live births. These numbers become even more bleak when they show that Black and Latinx mothers and infants statistically experience higher rates of infant mortality, preterm birth, low birth weight, pregnancy depression, postpartum depression, as well as severe maternal mortality and morbidity than other racial groups, according to Texas Health and Human Services. This, as well as, healthcare disparities and inequities within our San Antonio community are the reasons that my Co-Founder Ashley Green and I began Latched Support. -
