Participates in the acquisition process to include pre-solicitation, solicitation, award and post-award (contract management). Serves as the COR for the CISCO JELA (Joint Enterprise Licensing Agreement) and assists the contracting officer by performing such activities as a liaison between the contracting officer and contractor. Additional role within the JELA program office is acquisition planning, developing market research plans, and providing effective contract management. As an acquisition advisor critical duties include assisting in the planning and implementation of strategies needed to assure that supplies and services are available to meet mission requirements.

Investigated the genomic basis of malaria drug resistance to several frontline antimalarials including artemisinin, chloroquine, and mefloquine. Maintained mammalian cell culture using sterile aseptic laboratory techniques. Utilized genomics to study the mechanisms of drug resistance, genome diversity, population genetics, and evolution of malaria parasites. Through the use of microsatellite maps, single nucleotide polymorphisms, identification of genes affecting phenotypes such as drug resistance, red blood cell invasion, and sexual development are made possible. Role and responsibilities involved data collection and statistical analysis associated with antimalarial drug resistance, in vitro culture of Plasmodium falciparum, gene cloning, transfections, supervising summer interns and recent college graduates.

Launch project manager for $3.9B communication satellite program. Maintained interface with launch community to coordinate technical, cost, and schedule issues. Monitored task order post-award activities and task order execution. Coordinated supporting activities involved with procurement and contracts. Provided support through acquisition planning, budget execution, and cost analysis support. Prepared budget estimates and reviewed budget justifications for cost estimating support activities which assisted Air Force Space Command’s (AFSPC) strategic planning and budgeting process; influencing and shaping a $37B space portfolio. Assisted long range planning efforts to achieve the needs of the war fighter and produced desired space-based capabilities and effects required by the Department of Defense.
