As a youth, I grew up attending DODEA, public, private and boarding schools in America and overseas. As a teacher/leader, I instruct and lead under the premise that the opportunity to learn together can be shared by children and staff of diverse racial, religious and socio-economic backgrounds, as well as diverse academic and physical abilities. It is my belief that by supporting a comprehensive program of academics and core rigor, students will obtain the necessary skills and joyful learning experiences that lead to personal success. Students are encouraged to develop self-esteem, creativity, critical thinking, and independence to prepare them to succeed in a changing world.My role as an agent of change includes creating community educational services for children and adults. At times, we used a grassroots approach. Throughout my career, I have worked in school environments, community organizations and arts programs that combine arts with academics and expects/supports professional growth, staff co-operation, reciprocal learning, sharing and the integration of new ideas into the classroom. I celebrate diverse learners, and am skilled at creating instruction for various learning preferences that create that “aha” moment for students. My ability reflects my desire to help the individual achieve and succeed so that they too will learn, grow and take steps to become future productive citizens who are agents of change.In addition to having an extensive educational background in science, I also have psychiatric, medical, clinical and field research experience along with extensive legal and medical knowledge. I am licensed and trained in educating students who have unique medical situations that impact their academic ability and I am certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention.
