Contracted to join a team developing the National Security Decision Making simulation for the United States Air Force Air Command & Staff college. The team was struggling to understand and meet the user needs and the high profile project was in jeopardy of being canceled.By entering the struggling million dollar project with a fresh empathic perspective and doing immediate user research, it was saved by redefining persona definitions, realigning project requirements, changing the design approach, introducing highly desired gamification techniques, implementing graphically rich UI and high end 3D individual contributions that ultimately created the user experience the client was after. Within a month we produced a new prototype proof of concept that proved our new approach was exceeding both client and internal expectations. The project launched with such high praise that it resulted in a new significantly larger follow up multi-million project for the same client a few months later.The success of turning this project around led to an immediate full time job offer to lead UX design efforts and stand up a new Creative Services department for Regis Learning Solutions (later rebranded as The Regis Company).
