Verve Community CIC is a collaborative network of partners within the Not-for-Profit sector dedicated to driving positive change in our community. We harness technology and advocate for equal opportunities for every child. Our blogs aim to connect various demographics in our community in straightforward ways.Firstly, we create baby clothes, blankets, and toys from a ball of wool, utilizing the efforts of over 250 women. To date, we've donated more than 70,000 items to community centers and charities across Greater Manchester. Secondly, we actively recruit foster carers for the Not-for-Profit sector through digital campaigns. Thirdly, and most importantly, we think creatively about how to use digital technology for unconventional purposes. With the support of our fantastic partners, CDD Services and Spotlite Technology, we offer DBS/RTW checks for the Not-for-Profit sector. But that's just the beginning; our collaboration with charities and social enterprises fosters a cooperative ethos that prioritizes care over profit. With the advent of digital technology, digital wallets, and the digital Bill, significant change is on the horizon.Now, with real-time digital reporting, verifications of conversations can be accessed instantly. This means that children in care will receive digital wallets containing their personal data as they transition out of care. By viewing the world through the eyes of children, we must protect and equip young people with a strong sense of identity.While we are hopeful that progress is being made, our work cannot cease. We must collectively strive, regardless of our past experiences, until every Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) is eliminated and children in care are no longer seen as profit sources for shareholders with offshore accounts.
