Medical lead at Hartrick Veterinary Clinic (Royal Oak, MI, started April 2021). This clinic is part of the Mission Veterinary Partners hospital group. Responsible for supervision of two to three other veterinarians, scheduling doctors, controlled substance monitoring, training of new veterinarians, project management, protocol management, and routine veterinary medical care. Member of the Medical Advisory Board for 1 year and currently on the Technical Advisory Board. Took part in the Leadership Development Program. Duties require eighty percent administrative work and twenty percent on the floor clinical veterinary medicine.

Associate veterinarian at Wilson Veterinary Hospital (Washington Township, MI) and the Animal Clinic of Sterling Heights (Sterling Heights, MI). General small animal practice, including surgical and medical cases. Responsibilities include routine surgery, preventative care, in-house patient care, as well as emergency duty.

Staff doctor at Michigan Veterinary Specialists (Southfield, MI). Breakdown of responsibilities: 45% emergency room/ICU (primary case responsibility for incoming/in house patients plus monitoring of specialty/ICU patients over nights & weekends), 55% work in specialty rotations (internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology, oncology, etc).

Duties include preparation for and assistance during surgery, giving medication, drawing blood, conducting tests (fecal tests, heartworm testing, etc), etc. Small animal work.

Worked in the equine sports medicine center at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine (West Lafayette, IN) under Dr. Laurent L. Couetil. Responsible for handling horses, physicals, exercise on the treadmill, inhalation treatments, blood separation, histamine administration, and data analysis. Funded for twelve weeks of work under the Veterinary Research Fellowship Award donated by Merck.

Involved in the Cancer Research Group at Eli Lilly (Indianapolis, IN) under Dr. Victor Chen. Conducted drug assays involving human cancer cell lines. Responsible for maintaining cell lines, dosing cells, and extraction of DNA. Worked 40 hrs/wk from 5/19/98 to 8/7/98.

Involved in the study of detergent enzyme characteristics for Novo Nordisk A/S, (Bagsvaerd, Denmark) under Morten Andersen. Worked 40 hrs/wk from 5/16/97 to 8/18/97. Used gel electrophoresis for the separation of reaction products and elucidation of reaction mechanism. Also set up protocol for enzyme assay.

Performed enzyme studies in Dr. Fred E. Lytle's laser spectroscopy laboratory, Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN). Worked 40 hrs/wk from 5/13/96 to 7/19/96 under the Merck Manufacturing Internship. Used fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy to examine Leucine Amino Peptidase activity. Assessed the effects of light and temperature on substrate stability.

Involved in Dr. Fred E. Lytle's laser spectroscopy laboratory, Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN). Worked 40 hrs/wk from 5/22/95 to 6/15/95. Learned how to use spectrophotometer and fluorimeter. Learned to carry out background research, conduct experiments using analytical techniques, and create graphs to show results.
