Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) is the largest Japanese Animation (Anime) & Comics (Manga) convention in the Southeast region. • Gained sponsorship from Singer Sewing Company and other companies with a total value of over $5,000 dollars• Project manager for cosplay events outside of the convention including co-hosting with Barnes & Noble and local gaming and comic stores• Oversees scheduling of cosplay department crew• Schedules Cosplay Department yearly panels• Manages and trains cosplay department staff each year• Operates “Cosplay Gallery” which features up to ten (10) costumes from well-known costume makers including past entrants of the TV show “Face Off” and “Cosplay Melee”• Serves as liaison for cosplay guests for the “Cosplay Gallery” to ensure they receive tickets, advertising of their brand through AWA’s social media, and manages their panel submissions• Manages Official Photography and Group Meetups for over 1,000 costumed attendees• Co-manages backstage operations and judging of yearly costume contest featuring up to 200 entrants• Implemented new security and policy changes for the convention to ensure safety of all attendees• Creates outside promotional events for the convention including movie meetups, annual staff picnic, meetups• Assists with scheduling panels and main events to be held during the convention including yearly black tie ballroom dance
