A Process Engineer by qualification, currently the Group Executive for Planning & Corporate Development at Petra Diamonds. My professional career spans nearly 20 years, with a distinguished track record in the extractives industry. My current role at Petra encompasses overall Business Planning, Strategy, Corporate Development (MADs), as well as the traditional Corporate Finance aspects. Since 2017, I have been formulating corporate strategies built upon Sustainability at its core, as I firmly believe that much needs to be done in order to make the world an inherently more sustainable one. My approach to my job or any project I undertake is to embed Sustainability right from the onset, which I believe leads to better solutions. I consider my adaptability and quick learning capacity as my biggest strength, having lived and worked in 6 different countries (India, Italy, Philippines, South Africa, South Korea, and the USA).I have had the privilege of performing and delivering in multiple disciplines (Technical/Engineering, Project & Program Management, Strategy Formulation & Execution, Stakeholder Relations, Business Planning, Corporate Development & Corporate Finance). My value proposition is a unique skill-set that is an amalgamation of my varied experiences. I am a highly objective & logical thinker (based on my analytical and fact-based technical/engineering experiences), able to seamlessly organize and integrate (based on my Project/Program Management experiences), always have a big picture view (owing to my Strategy Formulation experiences), and driving financial discipline (owing to my Project Management and Corporate Development experiences), all of which are bounded by my clear understanding of striking a balance across the triple bottom line.
