Pricing & PromotionsDuring the WAS 8 Upgrade project I made transition from Ant to Maven 3 for building the project artifacts, re-factored JSPs and business layer to use newer versions of different libraries. Additionally I simplified and streamlined application initialization and applied multi-threading to the Caching module so instead of 20 minutes it spends 3 minutes now to complete cache renewal.After application was deployed to the new production environment we found that the average JSP response time dropped by 10-20%.In the Pricing & Promotions project my major responsibility was supervising work of 4 developers, make sure that all coding they do is up to company standards. Additionally I coordinated technical design of different modules between our team and other teams who worked on other layers of the application. During this projects we started using multi-threaded calls to the web services to improve performance plus I made some changes to the logging layer to make it asynchronous to work faster.

I designed this application with using Tufts' Service Oriented Architecture based on TIBCO as services provider and JSF/Spring/Axis2 portlet application deployed to ALUI Portal 6.1.Achievements:* Thanks to SOA, MVC pattern and OOP we achieved parallel and independent development of application layers* I was invited into this project as JSF expert so during thisproject we trained several people to use JSF framework forweb-application development.
