In this project we looked forward to provide collaborative RF/OWC support for Virtual Reality. This project was a coordinated action between ULPGC, Orange, PureLiFi, Oxford University, IHP, B<>Com and OledCom. When we reached our objectives, the experience of virtual reality was dramatically improved thanks to the high speed wireless transmission and the cellular network able to handle full mobility among the game area.My main tasks during the project were the generation and optimization of Monte Carlo Ray Tracing algorithms to estimate the behavior of both Optical Wireless Communication and mm-wave channels. During my collaboration with LightBee I participated in project LightKey. This project was funded by the European Commission in anH2020 SME Instrument Phase II call. I carried out hardware and firmware design in order to achieve a TRL8 in the visible light communications-enabled doorlock.

I was a PhD Researcher in project Urban Waste during this period, an H2020 action where a gamification model to encourage tourists to properly make use of the waste collection infrastructure of touristic cities is being developed.Furthermore, I co-directed two PhD theses, and I actively collaborated in the research activities of IDeTIC's Group of Photonics and Communications.

This phase of my fellowship grant is focused on the development of my thesis work. My thesis is entitled: "Contribution on the study of wireless optical systems for underwater sensor networks".The main objective of my thesis is to obtain statistical models to predict the performance of an underwater wireless optical link regarding its geometrical parameters and the physical properties of the propagation medium. Besides, several energy-efficient strategies are proposed.
