Consultant´s activities included: (a) design the strategic approach for the department, (b) provide support to senior staff in the design of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Department, (c) design the job profiles and participate in the selection of personnel to staff the M&E&L department, (d) design the strategy for a work-based monitoring and evaluation process in twelve business areas of the mill, (e) carry out, with a team of 20 staff, the “analysis of competencies” for 75 job posts which constitute 12 key production and cropping activities, (f) develop with a seven-member team the instructional analysis plans to develop learning guides for employees who perform tasks within the 12 key activities, (g) elaborate with senior and junior staff 12 didactically designed guides which describe each activity performed by employees ( i. e. supervisors, foremen, assistants, field workers, machine operators, etc.); (h) design and develop the performance, process and product evaluation instruments to document field M&E evaluation activities carried out by technical personnel from the M&E department, (i) conduct the publication of the 12 manuals along with the Worker Performance and End Product Evaluation Instruments, (j) carry out orientation workshops to sensitize and motivate staff and field workers to follow performance and product quality standards and to know the evaluation information processes to be followed from there on, (k) prepare 12 booklets containing the technical information presented in the manuals, for wide distribution among field personnel, (l) carry out the edition of manuals and booklets to fit the academic and cultural levels of trainers and end users with different academic backgrounds and (m) design the field workers workshops Show less

International Technical Assistant for the APROLAB II Project – Peruvian Ministry of Education and European Union Delegation (lima, Peru). These led to… Show more International Technical Assistant for the APROLAB II Project – Peruvian Ministry of Education and European Union Delegation (lima, Peru). During this 860-day commitment the international technical assistant (ITA) provided support to the Peruvian Ministry of Education to (a) design and organize a competency-based curriculum for 50 VET beneficiary schools in seven geographical regions; (b) lead institutional workshops for education and employment, with representatives of employers. These led to the adjustment of technical education curriculum in at least 20 different work areas (tourism, automotive mechanics, nursing, etc); (c) collaborated in the compilation of information from the employment sector to match academic offerings with industry demands; (d) contributed to the formulation of guidelines for a base-line study of the project´s 50 beneficiary institutions, (e) evaluated a work-demand study performed by a national consulting firm, (f) taught numerous workshops to guide school directors and teachers to merge from the subject-matter-based curriculum to a competency-based curriculum for technical academic programs, (g) coordinated 13 publications (paper and digital versions) which comprised all the major achievements of the APROLAB II Project, (h) developed with a team of teachers from the National Education University –La Cantuta- a teacher training manual for the development of learner-centered teaching skills and (i) was actively involved in the preparation of the general project plan and the yearly work plans (2007-2011), using planning tools (i.e. Log Frame).
