Directed and guided internal operations of the Community Development Division (formerly the Housing and Human Services Department) to ensure successful completion of targeted initiatives, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and City of Irving programmatic compliance, including supervision of staff members, performance management, Board relations, grant administration, implementation of new initiatives; and creation of policies, procedures, tools, and tracking information for sub-recipient performance. Liaised with various community-based, regional, and interdepartmental problem solving teams to analyze and evaluate processes and to develop community-based responses to homelessness and poverty-related issues. Served as part of Emergency Operations Center command staff (Liaison Officer) during emergency situations. Employed innovative approaches to implement Services to Empower People, a faith-based collaborative homelessness prevention program, and the Back on Track homelessness assistance program, including development of policies, procedures, contracts, budgets, documentation; hiring and training of personnel; coalition with regional Continuum of Care. Expanded interaction between Planning and Community Development, Code Enforcement, and Police to develop multi-family response and education team.
