ResearchBritish Steel 1992 - 2000Initially I was employed as an Electron Microscopist and Metallographer, specialising in Transmission Electron Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-Ray Diffraction.I then joined the Coater House Task Team for two years. This aimed to apply the leading practices from outstanding organic coated steel suppliers to the British Steel lines. At the completion of the Task Team, I was given responsibility for the only Hot Dip Simulator in the UK. This gave me the opportunity to participate in many research projects and was the stepping stone to leading research projects relating to metallic coatings of steel.
