As an instructor, I have created activity-based classes and simulations. With these classes and simulations I not only gave the students relevant information to understand the material, but also created activities where students would do or act out what they were learning about. Then, after each class and simulation I help facilitate a discussion over the materials and how it could be relevant to the students. I have also lead outdoor exploration where I give students choices of where they would like to explore the property. During exploration I would educate students on what they found interesting in the environment as well as lead team building activities. All of the aforementioned activities are meant to create a community among the students and the staff where everyone feels validated and respected.

While working at Rise Up Farms I gained more hands on experience on the managing of a small organic farm. I learned about pest management, drip irrigation, seeding and harvesting techniques.
