Responsible for analyzing medical records of discharged inpatients and same day surgery patients according to medical staff rules and regulations and JCAHO which includes checking for appropriate physician’s signatures, transcribed reports, signed orders and missing documentation and enter and update the deficiencies in the Meditech system. Respond to record information requests within a timely manner. Prepared records for scanning per departmental policy pull delinquent record forms for physicians and assist them with chart completion. Maintain knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality of patient information when copying records/patient health information for patients, physician’s office and other facilities. As Report Distribution Specialist; responsible for analyzing diagnostic and transcribed reports to ensure correct and complete information is being sent to the appropriate provider. Coordinate the printing and distribution process for reports, correct inaccurate ordering provider entries prior to distribution , communicate with those responsible for maintaining the provider dictionary to assure accuracy of provider demographic data, meet established schedule for distribution of outgoing mail, and maintain knowledge of dictation and transcription systems to run query reports and search for transcribed reports.
