I've been working in various User Experience roles for 16 years, and I find the job as endlessly facinating now as I did when I first discovered "Human-Computer Interaction" (as it was called then) during university. I'm a problem solver and a systems thinker - an engineer at heart using those skills to help people and technology work together to get things done. 8 years ago I co-founded Square V Software for Agriculture, to fill a need in the sector for people who understand both technology and agriculture and how to get them to work in harmony. In the past 8 years I've been lucky to enjoy a lot of cups of tea at farm kitchen tables and a lot of bumpy rides in utes in every state of Australia and across a number of different commodities and industries. It's been great fun and I look forward to every trip where I get to learn new things about the fantastic people working in this sector, and use that knowledge to help figure out how we can harness technology to work for farmers, agronomists, researchers and the agribusiness sector. Square V specialises in building software for agriculture, and we're well-versed in the usual technologies and the problems that exist - from crop and fertiliser modelling to soil testing to farm financials, paddock boundaries in billions of formats, soil probes and weather stations, in-paddock data collection. We build software for the web and for tablets and phones, and our software works on the road, with no internet, in the paddock on a 40 degree day with the sun reflecting off the screen and dirt on your fingers! We're based in Bendigo in Victoria and are proud to provide professional jobs in our regional town.
