Contributed to complete newspaper graphic redesign. Represented newspaper in 10-day human-rights fact-finding trip to Germany through the German Consulate.

I worked for the Press Democrat in Santa Rosa, Calif., as an on-call news copy editor from October 1992 to September 1999, and again as a part-time features and opinion page editor from January 2003 to October 2003. Responsibilities included copy editing, proofing, story selection and layout of news, features and opinion sections. I regularly made the weekly "best headline" roundup, and was a winner in New York Times Syndicate monthly copy editing contest.
