Lead development of the communication and marketing strategy for the foundation; implemented a new brand identity. Developed website and marketing materials for events and campaigns. Worked directly with Board of Directors to build relationships with the district and community members and to reach new funding goals to deliver grants and scholarships to members of Franklin Public Schools. Established new teacher grants, expanded student scholarships and began a student emergency fund to meet the needs of the district. Served as the Foundation liaison on the “Education for Employment” district task force.

Lead the development and implementation of initial board protocols and business strategy for a nonprofit outreach program that focuses on Milwaukee’s homeless population. Recruited diverse board that now includes experts in homelessness, urban development, finance and mental health. Developed interactive website and communication deliverables to directly engage and increase volunteerism and financial support. Established a Nonprofit Donor Management (NDM) system to manage successful fundraising campaigns (peer-to-peer and traditional) and donor engagements. Provided leadership that helped build organization from a two-person volunteer outreach effort to an established nonprofit with four employees and a $1M annual budget.

2011-present Board member; Chair, Advancement (2017-present) and Chair, Marketing (2014-22) Committees: Served on strategic development committees and executive search committees for new Executive Director and Vice Presidents. Chaired the advancement committee overseeing the fundraising efforts of a $3 million annual target and completed a successful capital fundraising campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Next Door in 2019. Oversaw development of crisis communication planning and rebranding initiative for the organization.

Senior Executive Office Communications Manager: Managed all communication responsibilities and project management for President of Resource Industries Group, a multi-billion dollar global industry within Caterpil lar. Developed business- and product-aligned communication strategies, speeches and presentations for in ternal and external global audiences including employee, government, trade organizations, customers and dealers. Led advisory team of five global communication groups within the Resource Industries Group. Human Resources Communications Manager: Led internal communications, training and change management teams in implementing significant global benefit changes for employees and retirees. Delivered comprehen sive strategic communication plan centered on key messages and deliverables. Externally recognized with a Silver Anvil Award (Public Relations Society of America) and Outstanding Change Management Initiatives for a large company (LaMarsh Global and Associates). Communications Strategist: Delivered daily and weekly employee news productions. Developed communication effectiveness and saturation metrics for corporate news vehicles and channels. Performed and analyzed facility employee communication audits to increase employee awareness and engagement. Health Communications Editor: Produced monthly newsletter for the Corporate Medical and Health Promotions team, targeted to all US-based employees. Developed intensive communications plans for compensation and benefit-related communications for employees, retirees, and shareholders.

Developed concepts, conducted interviews and wrote all content for Annual Report for the Tahirih Justice Center, a non-profit organization that works to protect immigrant women and girls seeking justice in the United States from gender-based violence.

Taught U.S. history and customs courses using US-based curriculum to fourth-grade children of US citizens based in Beijing, China. Weekly night classes were held throughout the school year and included learning basic state statistics, history, customs and cultures.

Co-developed and implemented first English education curriculum for a severely impoverished elementary school to help meet government guidelines for English language needs using TESOL based learning methods. Co-coordinated and advised 15 new teachers through new program pre-K through 8th grade. Helped raise funds to renovate school grounds and provide electricity and heat to the school and provided clothing and blankets for children. Classes were attended regularly by parents.

Taught various undergraduate communication courses such as Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communications and Small Group Communications. Assistant coach for the nationally-ranked Forensics Speech Team.
