Starting out in the NZ Army as a signaler within the Royal NZ Signals Corp (this position no longer exists!) I moved into my first office role with Altherm Aluminium Canterbury, this was a fantastic starting point for me covering all aspects of Administration / Reception / Customer Services. Answering phones, accounts receivable/payable, weekly wages (Manually!), monthly PAYE and two monthly GST, I was the only woman in this environment so at a young age learned to become assertive!I moved to Auckland and began working for Ford Motor Company Head Office, this was a fantastic company to work for, they valued staff loyalty and showed it in training schemes and work placements. I started working in Marketing and once again grew my skill set. I left to become a full time mother to my 3 children.When my youngest child was at school I started back part time at Bunnings Hardware in Pukekohe. I drifted around between departments, helping where and when I was needed, again this heightened my customer service skills along with my administration/clerical experience, I was also able to add inward and outward goods to my resume.I moved into the child care industry which suited my family life. My knowledge once again expanded to include working with children, parents, family members, guardians and social services. I enjoyed working within this industry becoming skilled in recruiting, training/mentoring and managing staff along with becoming proficient with government policies and procedures. I was in a role where my inner child could surface regulary!My family and I moved to Tauranga where I continued my work within the child care industry working for YMCA Tauranga. Here my skills in staff management, budgeting and customer growth were fully appreciated and utilised. Early in 2015 I moved into Office admin / customer service and started work within the team at Trufold Products. Only 2 months into my new role I suffered an injury which required surgery.
