As a Client Representative I ensure that my client’s members are enrolled accurately, efficiently and assisted in a timely manner. This includes initial enrolment, changes and claims assistance. I also look after group changes to coverages, limits and enrolment rules. This can also include changes to the carrier for the group as a whole. I also analyze renewals and prepare renewal documents. Attend client meetings and follow up with any concerns or questions the clients may have.

Over the last several years I have been managing benefit accounts for groups ranging from 1 employee up to 75 employees, as well as new Group Sales, Individual Life, AD&D, Disability and Critical Illness sales. Preparing groups for the quoting process, processing renewals, claims, member changes and group changes. I work closely with the members advising them of coverage rules and eligibility, processing claims for Health and Dental as well as helping them complete claim documents for Life, AD&D, Critical Illness and Weekly Indemnity and Long-Term Disability. During my time here, I helped develop an in-house Health and Dental program for small businesses, assisted in the development of procedures for new business and renewals, implemented our member privacy policy and helped facilitate the implementation of our new claim adjudication and administration system. One area of my position that I have truly enjoyed is working directly with the owners and administrators. I have developed close relationships with many of my clients and find that this breeds trust, loyalty and security. Outside of the office, I visit clients for enrollments, renewals, and employee education sessions.Within the office I oversee the Group Benefits and Wellness Plan for the employees of Wilson Insurance Ltd.

Group Administration December 2010-June 2012 As a National and Regional Member Administrator I was responsible for processing member’s applications, canceling plans and updating member information for dental, health and life benefits. Strict rules and restrictions had to be followed according to each specific group plan. Duties also included reviewing reports for discrepancies and errors, determining the cause of the errors and correcting the information. I also answered calls from members and plan administrators. Accuracy, speed and ability to self-manage were very important skills in this position. Customer Service Representative January 2007-December 2010 In my role as a Customer Service Representative, my job was to answer calls regarding dental and extended health insurance. These calls covered a variety of questions including coverage, claim payments, denied claims, and address and name changes. The mood of each call varied depending on the member’s needs, I was able to help people through the claims process, help them understand the time needed to process a claim as well as the reasons why a claim may be denied. I thoroughly enjoyed this position and had great success in ensuring the companies confidentially expectations as well as the improving the members experience. This was a very detail-oriented position and I enjoyed the challenges that this industry and position brought.

Customer Service Representative August 2004-July 2006 October 2005-July 2006 I took incoming calls for Prescription Solutions from PacifiCare, a Medicare part D participant from the United States. With this position I assisted the elderly, disabled and very ill with choosing a prescription drug plan that would suit their needs. I helped explain the coverage, cost and subsidies that everyone was entitled to. This position required ample patience and extensive knowledge of the US Medicare system; this was a brand-new part of US Medicare and required a lot of explanation to most callers. To complete my duties, I was fully trained in the use of a specifically designed program that was directly linked to pharmacies across the US. August 2004-Septmeber 2005 I took incoming calls for Direct Energy Essential Home Services, an HVAC and water heater company located in Ontario, Canada. While in this position I scheduled repairs of equipment, scheduled sales calls and promoted heating and cooling protection plans. This department required negotiation skills, understanding of heating and cooling systems and the ability to troubleshoot, especially during excessive cold and extreme heat.

I received inbound calls to place orders for supplies, placed calls to clients whom I knew would be interested in certain items that were on sale or being discontinued, I also did some work in the accounting department, matching purchase orders to bills and receipts. During my time at Covey's I also did some work in the warehouse, picking and packing orders, and was also an auditor for ISO 9002, a program that insures that each job is done the same every time, to ensure a smooth flow for every customer.
