Guided by the student-centered teaching approach, I want to empower students to become self-starters and leaders of their own path. Leading with mindfulness, hope, and compassion, I understand that every student has their own unique needs, and it is necessary to be fully present and meet students where they are at. I am aware that this profession comes with great privilege as well as responsibility. We hold power that can shape and transform students' lives as they are navigating through uncharted territory. As a first generation student, my college experience was greatly enriched by the mentors and individuals who provided me with resources and advice to become successful. In return, I hope to make a positive impact on future students that I cross paths with. My goal as a higher education professional is to help students achieve holistic (e.g., social, spiritual, emotional intellectual, physical, financial) wellness, critical thinking, multicultural competence, and leadership development.With great enthusiasm and conviction, I am committed to being a lifelong learner by equipping myself with updated knowledge and resources to serve various student populations.
