CityFibre is the largest independent Full Fibre network operator in the UK, building the world-class digital infrastructure needed for a fairer, smarter, greener future.As part of a fantastic team at this rapidly scaling challenger, I led our policy and public affairs programme, engaging with external stakeholders to shape and enable the UK Government's nationwide Full Fibre by 2025 ambition, and advising the executive leadership on key political developments affecting the business’s growth.

In addition to long-term contracts for CoBA, Discovery and Delany & Co (listed separately), I also project managed and co-authored a major report - "Building Gigabit Britain" for INCA (the industry body for the UK's alternative digital communications networks) calling for the UK Government to actively promote the rollout of Full Fibre digital connectivity. A month after publication, the Digital Minister announced a strategic shift in Government policy towards Full Fibre, citing INCA's report.

Delany & Co is a public policy and communications agency advising clients in the innovative technology space. I worked with the CEO to win clients and deliver work, including working with European sharing economy players (including Uber and Airbnb) to influence the European Commission's Digital Single Market proposals.

Working alongside Discovery's VP Public Policy EMEA to influence policy debates in the UK and Brussels, including leading a campaign for tax credits for high-end TV productions.

I ran COBA, the UK industry body for commercial broadcasters, with members including Sky, Discovery, Disney and Viacom. I was responsible for all its activities from government, regulatory and parliamentary affairs to member relations and business development, working to champion the interests of its members and promote the value they bring creatively and economically to the UK.

In 2007 Bebo was one of the world's leading social networks. As Head of Government Affairs, I was at the forefront of emerging discussions with policy makers across the world on how to minimise the potential dangers of social networks (including drafting the first European Safer Social Network Principles on behalf of providers across the EU).

The BSG is the UK Government's advisory forum for telecoms policy. As Policy Manager I coordinated the UK's cross-industry engagement in an EU Directive on online video content; drafted a self-regulatory industry code on online content information; and co-authored a major report on next generation broadband: Pipe Dreams.
