I qualified proudly as a Learning Disability Nurse in 2017 at Keele University. I began my career within a low secure unit where I spent 18 months finding my feet within nursing. I loved this job and unfortunately was part of a management of change. The change resulted in a move to Mental Health Intensive Rehabilitation Services. I was petrified at first, however I gained so many clinical skills and leadership skills within this role. I missed Learning Disability services, so joined an Assessment and Treatment which was outstanding. The care, management and team were incredible. I then decided to progress in my career and applied for the senior nurse position within a different trust at another A & T. I have been there 16 months and keen to make positive changes and allow my passion to help others. Quality Improvement has become an interest of mine and I am looking to further develop my leadership skills.
