Director and practising occupational therapist, Vicky Ruffle, is registered with the Health Professions Council and graduated from the University of Southampton in 2002 with a BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy. Since then, she has been providing specialised assessment and therapy in the area of paediatrics since 2003. Jigsaw Occupational Therapy was founded in order to offer more effective and personalised therapy specifically designed around each individual child and young person’s needs and to train and assist school staff, parents and carers in supporting the child.Vicky has a great deal of experience and to date she has worked in the following places: Chailey Heritage Clinical Services – providing assessment and therapy for children and young people who have profound and multiple disabilities, Child Development Centre in Brighton and Hove, The Children's Trust at Tadworth - specialising in acquired brain injuries and East Sussex Education Authority – Setting up a service and facilitating children to access their education either in mainstream and special needs schools.Over the years she has worked with children and young people experiencing a wide array of profound and multiple disabilities. Some of these conditions include: Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Asperger's syndrome, Sensory processing disorders, acquired brain injuries, motor coordination difficulties and learning disabilities.In addition to her clinical work, Vicky is a visiting lecturer to Occupational Therapy Students at the University of Brighton.By maintaining active memberships with the Sensory Integration Network, Children, Young Persons and Families (CYPF) specialist OT section, The College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section – Independent Practice (COTSS-IP) and the British Association of Occupational Therapy (BAOT), Vicky is able to ensure that her skills and knowledge are always up to date.
