I managed the content production from the Vertical Leap content team as we sought to provide engaging copy for a wide variety of websites. Focusing upon SEO driven content I worked across a variety of industries with many big name clients. Day to day I was the administrative lead for the team ensuring that all client commitments were fulfilled within the agreed deadline. In addition, I was also one of the main writers in the team, contributing blogs, news stories and features.

As Communications Officer I was responsible for responding to all media enquiries coming into the Council and producing literature to publicise Council activities.

I managed the Consumer team at Ridgemount PR where I had day-to-day responsibility for a varied portfolio of client accounts, managing the client/consultancy relationship. I ran numerous campaigns targeting national, local and trade press with great results. I was responsible for meeting all of the communications targets set in the client strategy and the financial targets set by the agency. Specifically, I ensured that all deadlines were met, I advised clients on the most appropriate means of achieving their objectives and I supervised and managed the work of junior staff.

As the sole press officer I was responsible for the day-to-day liaison with London’s broadcast, print and online media. As the first full time press officer for a number of years I established and developed an external media strategy and on a daily basis I targetted and successfully placed stories in appropriate media to actively promote successful prosecutions. I wrote press releases, statements, crisis managed, facilitated interviews and live statements on the steps of court and answered media queries. I developed systems to log and evaluate all the media coverage achieved. In addition, I also provided holiday support to the national press office - responding to media enquiries from national print and broadcast media outlets. I also made a significant contribution towards the CPS London internal communications strategy leading on a number of projects.

I was employed as a radio newsreader and reporter for a station with an audience reach of 205,000 across Berkshire and North Hampshire. My role included interviewing people on location or in the studio, editing material into broadcast segments and presenting news bulletins throughout the day. I also wrote a lot of online content to support the on-air presentation which I uploaded using the content management system.

In my first job, I was promoted to the role of the Head of a three person news team five months after joining the station. I predominantly worked as the breakfast show newsreader and daytime reporter for a radio station with an audience reach of 30,000 across Reading. My role included overseeing the editorial output across all platforms, developing new content, writing for online including news stories and a blog. I would plan the news agenda, take part in stakeholder relationship building, manage the rota of staff and freelancers and ensure legal compliance at all times.
