I am an experienced social worker and team manager, with substantial child protection experience in both the local authority and charity sectors. Over the past 16 years I have undertaken all aspects of the social work role with children and families. Some of my specialist experience includes working with children with disabilities, children who are care experienced, working with parents with learning difficulties, children who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour and assessing prospective foster carers. I have also supported students as a practice educator and practice educator mentor since 2012.I am currently a senior lecturer in social work at the University of Huddersfield, and teach on the MSci and MSc courses. I lead modules that promote whole family and strength-based ways of working. My research interests include statutory responses to child sexual abuse, specifically technology-assisted child sexual abuse which is the focus of my PhD research.
