In my role as a Senior Tutor at Kaplan Financial, I:- delivered accountancy training covering tax, accounting, audit, ethics, cash management, for awarding bodies AAT, ICAEW, ACCA and CIMA, specialising in F6, F8 and P6 ACCA;- was awarded PQ Magazine Private Sector Tutor of the Year 2006/07; - was graded as a 1 in lecturing within Kaplan Financial- achieved an extremely high pass rates with students, consistently exceeding the national average

I was asked by Kaplan to combine my role as Tutor with the management of the AAT product and curriculum. My role comprised:- managing and leading an AAT team of 5 individuals- liaising with the external awarding body (AAT) to organise examinations, report and record achievements, and give feedback- designing, developing and implementing new policies and procedures within department to improve working methods and increase quality- managing the accounts of our largest employers, working closely with their training managers to identify failing students, develop training packages, facilitate 1:2:1 sessions, report progression, and recruit new students

As a Tutor in Kaplan, I was responsible for:- delivering professional, concise and high quality accountancy training covering all topics and awarding bodies to FTC Kaplan students- writing course materials (tutor and student packs) for 2 AAT topics that were published and are now part of the National Product and are used as the standard materials across FTC Kaplan- using my own initiative to write a range of revision packs for specific course that increased pass rates by an average 18%- qualifying as an assessor (A1) and an IV to support the delivery and assessment of AAT training- facilitating a range of ‘Train the Trainer’ sessions where I was tasked with developing the tutoring skills of newly recruited staff

Ultimately responsible to the partners but tasked with supervising all junior staff, leading on client meetings, managing major accounts, developing new business, training junior staff and overall providing a first class serviceAccountabilities:- Budgets, planning account jobs- Review of accounts (also preparation)- Auditing- Computation of Income Tax Returns for individuals- Corporate tax computation- Training all junior staff- Training clients on accounting products- Review management accounts, VAT, bookkeeping- Producing manuals; and- Daily communication with my team and clients.

Within my role at Harben Barker I supported senior staff in every day accounting duties administration:- Accountabilities:- Control reconciliation’s- Accounts preparation- Audit testing (also had exposure to Solicitor audits)- Book keeping and VAT returns- Responsibility of the archiving- Corporation Tax computations
