My journey has taken me from retail and corporate sales to sustainability-focused initiatives, blending purpose with results at every step.After completing studies in Marketing Management at Nelson Mandela University, I embarked on a career rooted in creativity and connection. Early roles in retail and photography allowed me to develop a keen understanding of customer engagement, brand strategy, and visual storytelling. My time aboard Independence of the Seas as part of a photography team further sharpened my skills in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Capturing thousands of images daily and working with diverse clientele taught me adaptability, precision, and the power of storytelling to transcend cultural barriers.Returning to South Africa, I launched VDT Photography, specializing in event and portrait photography. This business became a platform for exploring brand development and client relationships while fostering a deeper appreciation for creativity’s role in marketing.In 2013, I joined The Waste Trade Company as Schools Project Manager. This opportunity allowed me to merge marketing with purpose by creating educational programs around sustainability. A year later, I was promoted to Marketing Manager, where I spearheaded campaigns that strengthened the company’s community impact and brand visibility. These six years taught me how to lead with intention, build trust, and craft strategies that drive meaningful results.Throughout my career, I’ve been guided by a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes. I thrive in collaborative environments, bringing creativity and adaptability to every project.The name “Kiekie,” derived from the Afrikaans slang for “photo,” pays homage to the roots of my creative journey. It reflects my love for visual storytelling and the path that photography paved for my career in marketing.
