A broadcast and film specialist with extensive technical and editorial experience across production, programme syndication and cinema exhibition. With a deadline-oriented approach to delivering value-added end results, I am a confident stakeholder, strategic and workflow manager. I have line management experience and am proficient in the operation and troubleshooting of a broad range of mainstream and bespoke digital technologies. During my eight years at the BBC I have handled media for a wide variety of domestic and World Service platforms within a constantly evolving role, successfully operating in high pressure environments to very tight deadlines. Usually to be found at the forefront of new initiatives, I have taken lead roles in migration projects, devised and written improved workflows for my teams and recently expanded my remit to include the line management of the News Intake team on an ad-hoc basis.My experience to date also encompasses the strong and engaging leadership of a previously troublesome projection team at a major West-End cinema during a period of intense change, providing motivation and a practical approach to staffing, administrative and technical problems to encourage loyalty and cohesion.I have used my editorial skills to volunteer with BBC School Report, guiding young teenagers through the complete news production process from finding and selecting local interest stories to editing a finished news package and have taken part in BBC national job swap schemes; the latter has included time in the production office of the David Walliams comedy, ‘Big School’ and a placement with BBC Radio Bristol where I received a comprehensive practical overview of local radio and social media production.In addition to the above, I have a number of volunteering positions under my belt providing a range selection of transferable skills, most notably as a committee member of the Projected Picture Trust, a heritage cinema charity for which I act as Executive Assistant to the chairman, carry out all relevant secretarial duties and create publicity material.
