I joined Hays following graduation. Initially employed as a Recruitment Consultant I gained promotion to Business Manager/Office Manager over time.I have recruited for a variety of specialisms including accountancy, human resources (following the completion of postgraduate CIPD study) and office support, both on a temporary and permanent basis. Assignments covered many sectors including FMCG, manufacturing, NHS, local government and service sector.As Office Manager I was responsible for Hays operations across Cumbria, supervising up to 6 staff, and responsible for the delivery of targeted growth year on year. This included the opening of a new branch which I developed from scratch.As an individual Consultant I enjoyed dealing with a great variety of assignments, learned how to source candidates, interview and shortlist, necessary vetting and compliance and often negotiated terms of assignment. Business development tasks were completed daily, building client relationships, preparing proposals, negotiating fees, etc....Over the years I have built up extensive knowledge of Cumbrian employers and many individual contacts.
