The division was a Value Added Reseller (VAR) of MapInfo products, a desktop GIS firm. Evaluated MapXtreme Java Edition for deployment of the product in Japan. Created GIS web application prototypes demonstrating the capabilities of MapXtreme Java vs. MapXtreme NT. Performance tested the two versions and deployed on Linux, Windows 2000, and Solaris. Developed applet, servlet, applet/servlet combo, and JSP applications using Tomcat implementing the internationalization capabilities of Java.
