About Victor Ajieroh

I am a public policy and development practitioner with over 20 years of progressive cross-sectoral experience in food systems, public health and nutrition. I have led a $50 million investment portfolio and managed teams and leaders of about 22 projects across 16 organizations (that leveraged about $2 Billion complementary resources) focused on economic sectors and subsystems such as Food Systems, Public Health, Agriculture, Nutrition and Human Capital Development in Nigeria and regionally especially in Kenya, Tanzania, Burkina Faso and the broader West Africa.I have engaged a range of innovative models for impactful programming, championed the framing of new narratives in food systems and nutrition, provided leadership for impactful Primary Health Care , introduced new governance innovations, contributed to the attainment of historical compliance levels from below an average of 50% to 90% that unlocked daily access to healthy foods for over 100 million Africans. I have managed high profile engagement platforms such as the CEO Forum on Large Scale Food Fortification in Nigeria and Kenya and the subnational Primary Health Care MOU mechanisms in Nigeria that enabled the convergence of leaders in business, politics and philanthropy around key food systems and public health priorities that are now being replicated across 8 countries. I provided leadership and supported a cluster of investments and partnerships that includes near decade long senior policy advisory support to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Nigeria.Had served on the Advisory Group of the Welcome Trust funded Sustainable and Healthy Food Systems Initiative, and also served on the Steering Committee of the African Academy of Sciences on African Food and Nutrition Priorities. I was part of a group of representatives supporting Eminent Members of the Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition, and had served on the Africa Talent Initiative Advisory Council at the Gates Foundation. I currently sit on the Boards of the World Vegetable Center, the Access to Nutrition Index, and the Alumni Association of the School of Politics, Policy and Governance. I hold a Ph.D. from the Public Health Faculty of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; completed the Advanced Management & Leadership program of the Said Business School, Oxford, and the Public Leadership & Policy program of the School of Politics, Policy, & Governance. I am a Fellow of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, and an NESG Policy Innovation Center Behavioral Insights Fellow.
