In the Research & Development department: Orange Labs, I was in charge of the integration of LoRa sensors devices with the existing Orange home automation Box. In order to reach the goal, I developed a test architecture allowing us to work with technology under construction such as Internet of things and LPWA networks. This work at the border of radio domains and computer services is following three main steps : - Building Micro LoRa Gateway Using a Raspberry Pi, I drove an IMST LoRa concentrator using C language. It could fetch all LoRa frames on 8 out of 16 frequency channels of the protocol. I have combined a Python code to it in order to Parse, Decrypt and send all of our LoRa devices data to the REST server (cf below).- LoRa REST ServerWritten in Python and using MySQL. Our LoRa devices data are received from Micro LoRa Gateway as from Orange’s IoT management platform. They are analysed, translated in user-comprehensible data (Degrees or Lumens for example). And then, stored in a database, available for the Home automation Box when needed.- Plugin LoRaUsing a Luup (Lua –UpnP) engine, the virtual plugin on Orange’s Home automation Box were fetching sensors data from the server. The final user could use LoRa sensors and incorporate them into home automation scenarios.Uses cases are diverse and multiple: - Personal object Protection (Through GPS linked to a LoRa Device)- Energy consumption Monitoring (Electricity, Water, Gas)- Everyday objects Monitoring (Mail ?, Bin collected ?)- Etc.We used this LoRa test architecture to investigate the usability of LoRa sensors devices such as Temperature, Luminosity, Door sensor, PIR etc. which was a success! It a great way of monitoring secondary houses which don’t have electricity or Internet connection.

With the close collaboration of VapéRail R&D team, in a team of four engineer students, we have established a requirements specification for the company and developed a connected safety helmet. As regards the Helmet’s prototyping, I was in charge of the Linux Embedded software on Arietta G25.I have implemented 3 Mains functionalities: - Hardware and software Integration of a Bluetooth module (RN52)- Linux Embedded Software integration- Sensors Programming (temperature and free fall)We have completed a functional connected safety Helmet prototype for the company with the following functionalities:- Lighting system designed for a full Night work- Handsfree Bluetooth System- Plug and Play security sensorsWith all the documentation we provided, VapéRail improved it and developed a more advanced product.
