PhD/Engineer in materials science, graduate of the University of South Brittany, I have completed a CIFRE (industrial) thesis in collaboration with the company Eco-technilin, European leader in the supply of commingled nonwovens reinforced with plant fibres. The work focused on the study of the temperature and moisture behaviour of plant fibre reinforced composites. A great experience which allowed the acquisition of in-depth knowledge in this field with, as a bonus, an industrial aspect (automotive industry) brought by the company. The work has led to several international and national publications and oral presentations.I am fascinated by the ocean; this environment feeds me and guides me since childhood. It is so important that it is difficult for me to imagine my life without iodized water, salty air and especially without waves. Surfing is my favourite pastime; I am lucky enough to have been able to practice it all over the world and I enjoy it to the fullest on the Breton coast which is an ideal environment. I started to build my own surfboards in parallel to my studies, thanks to the knowledge I acquired with my studies and my personal research/experience. Little by little, the technicality of the material and the science behind the functioning of such objects fascinated me as much as the practice itself.Worried about the environment and the pressure applied to it, I have been looking for a long time for a way to bring my contribution to limit the impact of the surfing industry on the planet. By combining my skills and passions, I decided to create the TIDES Lab, a Research and Development unit dedicated to the surfing industry and particularly to the equipment that allows its practice. The main objective is to assist companies in research, innovation and development through collaborative projects with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of equipment by considering their technicalities and performances.
