I had been working in the education industry for the past 7 years after a string of successful career over twenty years in the Petro-chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Industry in Singapore at Senior Management level. I had provided consultancy and training to several clients in all the three industries on start-up, operations management in alignment with industry standards and best practicesMore recently, I had been consulted in various areas of school operations and management and provided teacher’s training on classroom management skills, cooperative learning, learning styles, and several other life skills for effective teaching and classroom management.In addition, I had provided consultation and training to the several new business in the hospitality and education organisations.I hold a MBA in International Business and BSc (Hon) in Business Studies.5th January 2015Recently, I've developed a structured framework incorporating Life Skills Training, Career Counselling, and Student Development to better prepare and guide students in their preparation for their application to university to further their education.This framework includes critical intervention time-frame, psychometric testing on student's career interest and aptitude and research on universities and programs. Students are also made aware the importance of resume building, which is another important area which many overlook until the 'moment of truth' when filing their university application. The whole purpose of this framework is to prepare students well in advance, generate interest and purpose in participating in activities beyond the classroom setting, training them in skills and keeping themselves abreast with current affairs and the environment and community we live in. All these, if properly paced out during their secondary and junior college years, and properly documented, could potentially make a difference in gaining an offer from the university of the student’s choice.
