Migrated legacy .NET Framework codebase to .NET Core, developed Kubernetes specific stuff (manifests, helm charts, scripts, etc.) and associated architecture. Also during that period I was providing technical expertise in Kubernetes/Docker/Redis/RabbitMQ to the team, especially in such areas as performance, high availability, scalability and resource usage optimization (I discovered / fixed / resolved / explained numerous issues in these areas).Examples of technical achievements- Discovered multiple high-availability issues of how a .NET service was integrated with RabbitMQ (multiple issues on Kubernetes RabbitMQ pod evictions), organized a meeting to present the issues, suggested fixes which were implemented afterwards.- Investigated and explained the reason for errors “The underlying connection was closed: A connection that was expected to be kept alive was closed by the server” which occasionally occurred on CI during test runs against an application running in Kubernetes. Suggested short-term partial fixes which were implemented and a longer-term fix which was planned for future implementation.- Investigated broken download issues on Kubernetes pod eviction (pod was evicted during download data streaming) - optimal fixes for graceful eviction were suggested and implemented (different fixes for Windows/Linux containers).- Organized knowledge sharing meetings (presentation and Q&A): Kubernetes productivity tips and tricks, diagnosing network issues with Wireshark.- Discovered a bug in Kubernetes HPA implementation. I worked as a dedicated senior developer in a remote team of 15 developers (level senior+). During that period of time I participated in the development of a highly-loaded web portal (100K active users per day, 40M+ registered users). During that period of time I participated in the development of a highly-loaded web portal (100K active users per day, 40M+ registered users). I was responsible for the development of basic functionality: registration, email change, password reset, etc. During my work I had to consider distributed architecture of the portal: multiple datacenters (Geo DNS + Round-robin DNS), aggressive caching. Also my responsibilities covered development and design of infrastructure code: caching / cache invalidation, logging, basic portal logic customization (web portal supported multiple customizations for different customers). Aside from that I was responsible for security incidents investigation, monitoring, performance optimizations and complex technical issues investigation.Examples of technical achievements:- Investigated and fixed a problem with application occasionally failing to start (this problem was very rare, however it was a pain in the neck, since it occasionally occurred on production environment). The problem was caused by an issue in the code of Castle Windsor WCF Integration Facility, so I managed to fix it by disabling the functionality of WCF Integration Facility which we didn't use anyway.- Fixed the problem which occurred on DNS failover of application's infrastructure datacenters: .NET application kept working with the secondary datacenter, because .NET was reusing old TCP connections with the secondary datacenter (due to connection pooling), instead of making new connections to the primary datacenter.- Implemented numerous improvements in logging and tracing: extended logging context and implemented context transfer between backend services, enabled request id generation on nginx and also did some other minor improvements.
