My career began as an engineer, with a strong technical focus. But it didn’t take long for me to realise that my path was leading me toward something bigger: management.Early on, I dove into managing large-scale projects. With budgets of several million euros, many of these were joint ventures, requiring collaboration with multiple companies and accountability to all of them. That’s when I discovered that spreadsheets had become my greatest ally for keeping the project finances under control.Then, the story took a turn. I joined GuideSmiths, a small consultancy that grew from 15 to 120 employees in just a few years. During this journey, I found myself creating more spreadsheets than ever to analyse project profitability and measure the company’s performance. My life became a sea of cells and formulas.But everything changed when I took on the role of Managing Director for Spain. As the company went through an M&A process, I had to rethink how we managed our information. Spreadsheets were no longer enough. That’s when I immersed myself in Power BI to automate our processes.And the results were game-changing:📊 Information became easier to digest.🌐 I had real-time data at my fingertips—no more waiting.⚡️ Reports no longer consumed hours of my time.✅ Most importantly, I stopped worrying about broken formulas.🎯 Finally, I could focus on what truly mattered: strategy.Through it all, I realised something crucial: the challenges I had faced weren’t unique to my sector. Many managers struggle with similar issues. Even more importantly, not everyone has the tools or knowledge to overcome them. That’s why I joined Sherpa.
