Research Thesis: Coarse Grain Reconfigurable Array Architecture and Processing Element (a light-weight programmable computing unit), utilizing PyMTL, a Python based hardware description language.• Designed functional and cycle level processing element and mesh topology neural network for conducting various signal processing and machine learning applications to verify project feasibility.• Implemented and compared single and quad-core processing element RTL bubble sort application with FSM controller to highlight the flexibility and performance of the Coarse Grain Reconfigurable Array Architecture.• Improved and integrated an approximate multiplier into the RTL processing element.• Devised perceptrons with the approximate multiplier processing element to investigate the computational accuracy, area, and energy consumption tradeoffs for the reconfigurable architecture.

Conducted weekly lab sessions, supervised and guided students through various PIC32 microcontroller projects on topics of hardware timing, I/O, direct-digital synthesis, NTSC signals, PID controls, and real-time systems.
