Leading a team of engineers and playing a key role in the development of the manufacturing processes for Midatech Pharma’s product pipeline.- Project management of the process development and technology transfer projects.- Plan the engineering department’s work schedule and make accurate assessment of resource and budget requirements.- Provision of status reports, analyses and engineering project plans to senior management.- Assign work, providing direction and evaluating technical output of members of the engineering department ahead of consumption by external stakeholders.- Overseeing the development of the engineering departments staff skillset through regular performance reviews according to Midatech’s internal appraisal system.- Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures to the engineering department- Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, approving leave, and making decisions about the purchase of materials and services.

Working to develop a reliable and robust method of manufacturing drug-loaded polymer microspheres for commercial production and to provide engineering support to manufacturing for the production of clinical material.- Plan, carry out and record scale-up and design work according to the principles laid out in ICH Q8 & Q9.- Lead process FMEA; organising team meetings for the identification of risks, and creating and maintaining a risk register.- Provided on-site support during the start-up and commissioning phases and provided technical oversight during subsequent qualification and validation programmes.

Responsibilities include:- Design, development and prototyping of new and existing process parts- Experimental testing and data analysis- CAD design using Autodesk Inventor- Liaising with manufacturers for off-the-shelf and bespoke parts

 My responsibilities included receiving and directing patients, booking appointments and printing repeat prescriptions. This experience allowed me to see how different parts of a team collaborate to provide efficient and effective patient-focused care in a multi-professional setting.  I learnt that maintaining high standards, even under pressure, is vital to the integrity of the daily decisions we make, especially when they have an impact on the health of others.  I developed strong communication skills whilst liaising with patients and doctors alike.
