Optimum Patient Care (OPC) is a social enterprise committed to providing clinical reviews to support best practice chronic disease management. OPC work with over 700 general practices across the UK driving a vision for inclusion of real-life data into all aspects of medical research while informing the translation of research into daily clinical practice via new technologies and clinical services.Over the past decade, OPC has proven its expertise in both healthcare service provision, and the collection of data for ethically approved research purposes, both nationally and globally. In the UK, we have established one of the largest GP databases, called the Optimum Patient Care Research Database (OPCRD). OPCRD is a unique database which holds over 5,500,0000 anonymised electronic health records linked to information on patient reported data from 50,000 patients with asthma and COPD. We currently support over 700 primary care sites in the UK.Globally, OPC has delivered and is the guardian of the iHARP database with respiratory patient review data from nearly 6000 patients across eight countries globally including: United Kingdom, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Australia and France.

Research in Real-Life (RiRL) is an independent, research-driven organization, established to cultivate initiatives, provide evidence, and drive quality standards within the growing field of real-life, pragmatic research. RiRL’s research activities contribute to the pre- and post-marketing assessment of therapeutic interventions and help drive the current paradigm shift in healthcare evaluation towards inclusion of real-life data.
