Assisting in recording growth, demography, and phenology data for mountain jewelflower (Streptanthus tortuosus) common garden. I have also practiced data analysis techniques, using R studio to test growth models in weekly workshops, under direction of PI and lab members. Other lab tasks include seed cleaning, tissue collection, greenhouse plant care, and data verification. The collaborative group is investigating responses of the species' unique populations to climate change, using demography, genome sequencing, and remote sensing techniques.

Managed and operated ASUCD unit, promoting second-hand consumption and creative reuse of donated goods on campus. Hired, trained, and currently manage a team of 6 staff and 30+ volunteers. Direct operations toward mission goal, including recruitment, outreach events, related organization partnerships, $7,000 budget management, internal logistics. Report to career staff on external logistics solutions to operate responsibly as an extension of the school. Applied personal passion for and knowledge of community-sourcing, sustainability practices, and relevant local resources.

Worked on four-person data collection crew visiting plots in several Sierras wildfire footprints. Plot surveys included conifer and shrub ID, noting overstory and understory conditions, conifer seedling count, recruiting use of gear such as hypsometers, DBH tapes, GPS, and transect tapes. Eight-day field visits included backcountry navigation, safety training, and camping skills. Maintained research quality and data integrity through intense environmental conditions. Assisted in protocol revision with head researcher. Briefly joined grad student research in adjacent lab with shrub removal study observing similar metrics for forest recovery. Contributed to remote sensing satellite ground-truthing project for USGS.

Anticipate and order 2023 festival logistical needs, including energy, transportation, sanitation, and all large rental purchases. Sourcing from and negotiating with local suppliers, prioritizing sustainability goal of zero waste. Coordinate purchase orders on behalf of school within $30,000 budget. Practiced critical thinking, problem-solving, and organization with complex responsibility. Managed 2022 food vendor applications and needs in conjunction with campus health and safety standards, fire regulations, and risk management requirements. Mapped and directed logistically-sound site layout.

Compiled Environmental Justice Unit’s stakeholder outreach list. Researched and recorded NOAA CA King Tides data for Public Education web page interactive map. Conducted staff interviews and wrote summary profiles featured on Involvement site page. Considered diverse perspectives and education/career paths of professionals in GIS, policy analysis, and environmental law.

I am part of team of youth bridging the perspectives of students and directors to improve program experience at Enterprise for Youth, a youth job readiness non-profit. With my team of other students, I plan career and college events (up to 150 attendees), emcee, give presentations, and promote events. I also expand my own workplace skills through educational workshops and leadership opportunities.

I planned and ran practice sessions for a group of about 20 11-12 year olds and mostly by myself, sometimes alongside an adult coach. I taught conditioning exercises, demonstrated proper technique, ran drills, and led fun games and contests. I also played in scrimmages and coached a mixed-age team during an in-club mock tournament. This experience of working with young kids attempting a difficult sport to learn strengthened my leadership, communication, and patience abilities.

I worked with a team to serve the community through continuous upkeep and beautification of Golden Gate Park. we executed multiple-day restorations of damaged areas through tough hands-on work: weeding, mulching, and planting. Through environmental health projects I elevated my interest in botany and ecology while expanding my passion for conservation.

At the historical bicultural Church's summer camp program, I organized and prepared six weeks of all-day activities including games, crafts, and bible lessons for 6-8th graders. I balanced responsibilities upfront and behind the scenes- budgeting supplies, food, and field trip costs while building strong connections to the kids.
