In this role, I worked with a team of students to support the Olin College 2020 Virtual Summer Institute. The Summer Institute aims to support the design of student centered learning experiences for faculty teams engaged in curricular change efforts at their own institutions. I worked with the student team to read and understand texts on the current state of engineering education and also pedagogy more broadly. The literature review we created and provided for Summer Institute participants is linked to this posting. Our team of 4 students also designed and presented a workshop on Imaginative User Design and supported a workshop on Participatory Design at the Summer Institute.

Worked with a team of two other students to design and teach a student led course in Advanced Algorithms in Spring 2020 at Olin College to an undergraduate class of over 10 students. Activities included the design and creation of a syllabus, course plan, and assignments as well as the operational tasks of managing the class, delivering lessons, and providing support to students. We also worked quickly to transition our course to an online format when Olin moved to online learning in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Served as a course assistant for Software Design (Spring 2018, Spring 2019, and Spring 2020), Software Systems (Spring 2019), and Discrete Math (Fall 2019). Tasks included holding office hours to support students with assignments, grading student work, and supporting course instructors.

Provide help desk support and help students with computer software or connectivity issues on Windows and Linux machines.Assist with student laptop repairs, order parts as necessary, and replace parts in student laptops.

Served on the teaching team for Data Structures and Algorithms, a totally student run course at Olin College, with 3 other students in Spring 2019 after having taken the course in Spring 2018. Taught and prepared lessons for a class of over 20 students. Worked with the other members of the teaching team to organize and prepare assignments, provide student support, work with and assist course assistants, and collect and analyze student feedback to make course improvements.

Worked on improving computing tools for hydrologists for my Olin SCOPE senior capstone project. Worked on a team of four to conduct user research and then develop a React web app. The app improves the user experience of the CUAHSI JupyterHub computing environment by allowing users to easily sync files between CUAHSI JupyterHub and the HydroShare data repository using a simple drag-and-drop interface. We designed the app specifically to meet the needs of educators and their students, though it will be a useful tool for a wide variety of audiences. My work on the team focused on the user interview and design activities as well as development of the back end Python code.

Worked on integrating the Perspectives Engine tool (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/project/perspectives-engine/) into Microsoft Word using C# and TypeScript.

● Worked on refactoring and contributing to the open source ROS package, frontier_exploration, to allow for different plugins for automatic mapping of a warehouse.● Wrote some Locus specific plugins for frontier_exploration in ​ C++​ to meet certain mapping requirements.

Worked on early stage software development in Python for the final software prototype for a co-adaptive human computer interface.Wrote tests in Java for an android application using the Espresso testing framework.

Worked on software and hardware prototypes for co-adaptive human computer interface project. Included human systems integration, process and hardware testing, computer programming in Java and Python.
