During my time in Mebane, the site was looking to update and improve its EHS practices and lean manufacturing. To support this, I updated Standard Operating Procedures for the plating and painting departments which had not been updated since 2000 and was critical due to loss of experience in the area. In addition, I created a Brainshark presentation on the processes that could be shared with interested customers. I also conducted the annual hands-on reviews with lockout/tagout authorized employees and led an eight-person safety audit team on weekly audits. To complement the safety audits, I developed Industrial Hygiene Risk Assessments for the Mebane Facility, which had never been done before. This tool allows the site to raise awareness of risks presented by use, handling, storage, creation, and disposal of IH Risk Factors and to understand and manage exposure to them. To support the lean manufacturing initiative, I joined the 5S Audit Team which focused on reorganizing and streamlining overall site processes through biweekly audits of individual departments.Furthermore, I managed a survey, data collection, and follow up with employees on an initiative to gather employee interest to work in jobs in the Asia region.
