In this job role, I was a Supervisor for a hybrid Second Cup/Pita Pit once it opened in September 2023. This is only the second store of its kind, which resulted in us needing to be quick-thinking and receptive to sudden changes during the first few months the store was open.As a part-time supervisor, I worked mostly evenings and weekends due to my college class schedule. I was responsible for:▹hand-crafting specialty beverages as a barista▹preparing pitas, salads, and rice bowls to order for customers▹prepping vegetables, meats, and cheeses for front-of-house orders▹proper implementation of rotation for safe food storage▹cleaning front and back of house▹serving customers▹weekly stock ordering ▹delegating tasks▹closing duties as part of a team during evenings▹opening duties on my own during weekends▹assisting with training new team members▹staying up to date on recipes and procedures▹preparing and delivering catering orders

During my time as the Company Administrator for Java Moose Coffee Roasters, I took on many responsibilities. My main job roles were day-to-day office support, answering the phone, managing emails, processing orders, and recording daily sales reports for the retail stores.I was also a main component of the wholesale department by taking orders from customers on a weekly basis, preparing the orders for fulfillment and distribution through Canada Post and local couriers, and handling customer concerns and complaints on the backend. I took on a similar role for the fundraising component of the wholesale operation, with the addition of managing the fulfillment team directly and assisting them with fulfillment.Regarding the retail stores, I took on the role of Human Resources. I was in charge of hiring and initial training for new recruits. I managed employee documents and implemented formal communication channels between the stores and the management team. I organized and chaired regular management meetings to aid in communication between stores.The final piece of the puzzle was the bookkeeping component. I was responsible for recording and maintaining accounts payable, monthly bank reconciliations, company expenses, and assisted in the payroll process. As the only office staff member of a mid-sized local business, I was expected to manage many moving parts simultaneously.
